The Participant Advisory Group (PAG) plays a central role in ensuring UK Biobank is appraised of the views and opinions of UK Biobank participants.

The members come from across the UK and together they are broadly reflective of the UK Biobank cohort. The PAG has up to 20 members and it is chaired by our Chief Scientist, Professor Naomi Allen.

The PAG provides advice on a wide range of topics and activities including:

  • communication with participants and the public
  • resolving issues relating to collecting, storing and sharing participant data
  • designing UK Biobank studies
Hear from a few of the members of our Participant Advisory Group, discussing the experience of being involved in UK Biobank and being further engaged via the group itself.

Our participants are at the heart of our organisation. Find out how we involve you in our work.

Get involved

We are always looking for participants who are willing to get involved and provide their views on UK Biobank’s work.

You do not need to have any prior knowledge of health research. In fact, we would like to encourage participants who have had other personal and professional experiences to get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

Please contact us on [email protected] to express your interest and we will be in touch.
